About Us

Carrs was founded in Sheffield as a family business in 1902. With over a century of experience behind us we have developed a long established, world-renowned tradition of producing special and stainless steels.

The company became a division of The ELG Haniel Group in 1992, providing a much-needed re-direction into the stainless steel market. The ELG Haniel Group have 35 operations worldwide employing over 775 people, with an annual tonnage of 1.4 million tonnes from sales of around €1 billion. ELG is a market and technology leader in the recycling of stainless steel scrap, duplex and nickel alloys throughout the world.

Products

ELG Carrs Stainless Steels is a unique, all-inclusive, small-scale manufacturer of special steels to the highest quality making small cast quantities ranging from 150kg to 10,000kg. As an integral part of a worldwide organisation with international scrap resources we benefit from full traceability of raw materials used in production.

Our products are characterised by the fact that each cast ingot can be individually tailored to the requirements of the customer. This translates into almost limitless variations not only in quality but also in sectional profile.

In addition to having gained technical approvals from organisations from around the world ELG Carrs is fully certified to ISO 9001 for quality management systems and operates within the strict guidelines of Total Quality Management.
