Overview

ELG Carrs Stainless Steels is a specialist contract Ingot manufacturer offering a vast range of qualities and sizes across the complete spectrum of stainless and special steels.  This translates into almost limitless variations not only in material grades but also in sectional profile.

As part of a worldwide organisation with the facility to obtain materials for every requirement the company is an approved, experienced supplier of quality assured Forging Ingots in the As Cast, Annealed or Hot Transfer condition.  Uses are as follows: 

• Round for re-melting electrodes or ring rolling.

• Squares for hammer, GFM and press forging, rolling.

• Octagonal for hammer, GFM and Press forging.

• Slab for rolling.

Utilising our Vacuum Oxygen Decarburisation and vacuum degassing facilities, in conjunction with a “Clean Steel” pit-side practice, a high level of steel cleanness is achieved. All ingots are uphill teemed using the latest sliding gate and ingot head technology, when coupled with our ladle metallurgy, provides consistently high yielding special steel ingots.  The Ingots are cast in a standard shape convenient for storage or shipping and by maintaining the highest standards throughout the production process, the resultant Ingots produced by ELG Carrs Stainless Steels are of a consistently excellent standard.
